MHS grapplers make strong tourney showing
The Middlesex High School wrestling team participated in the Lancaster Invitational on Saturday, December 15, as the Chargers came away with 3 team wins and 2 losses. Middlesex defeated Arcadia 42-36, Grafton (B) 63-6, and Northumberland 42-39. The Chargers lost 66-18 to a powerful Tabb 66-18 and 56-21 to King William.

JVs even record at 4-4
imageThe Middlesex High JV girls basketball team is 4-4 following recent action. Middlesex defeated visiting Rappahannock 34-13 on December 14 and posted a forfeit win over Essex on December 11, but lost at Northumberland 36-24 on December 12.


Middlesex wrestlers win twice
imageThe critical matches against Nandua came down to the 220-pound weight class and the heavyweight division. After the first six matches, Nandua and Middlesex were tied. Steve Skelton of MHS then won his 220-pound division match 3-2 in sudden death overtime.


Lady Chargers host Indians Friday night
The Lancaster Lady Red Devils sent the visiting Lady Chargers season record to 0-4 after handing them a 68-22 defeat on December 5. The young Lady Chargers wilted under the constant defensive pressure of Lancaster, said MHS head coach Neil Wake.
