‘Team effort’ carries MHS to first victory
“This was a full team effort,” said first-year MHS coach Chris Walker. “This is the first game we have played to our potential. As a team we moved the ball around and were patient on offense to get the best look at the basket.

MHS girls looking for elusive first win
imageThe Lady Chargers play at Rappahannock on Thursday, December 20, in the final game before the holidays. The Lady Chargers (0-8) begin Tidewater District play against visiting King William on Thursday, January 3. The JVs play at 6 p.m. and are followed by the varsity at 7:30 p.m.


MHS grapplers make strong tourney showing
The Middlesex High School wrestling team participated in the Lancaster Invitational on Saturday, December 15, as the Chargers came away with 3 team wins and 2 losses. Middlesex defeated Arcadia 42-36, Grafton (B) 63-6, and Northumberland 42-39. The Chargers lost 66-18 to a powerful Tabb 66-18 and 56-21 to King William.


JVs even record at 4-4
imageThe Middlesex High JV girls basketball team is 4-4 following recent action. Middlesex defeated visiting Rappahannock 34-13 on December 14 and posted a forfeit win over Essex on December 11, but lost at Northumberland 36-24 on December 12.
