Twenty children enjoy day of fishing
imageThe Middlesex Partners In Progress (MPIP) 2nd annual fishing trip was a huge success and lots of fun for all who participated. The kids had a great time on the “Tortuga” as they went out to the mouth of the Rappahannock River.

Football Jamboree is Friday at MHS
imageThe Middlesex High School Chargers will host a Football Jamboree at 6 p.m. this Friday, August 19. Participating in the practice games will be the Chargers, Colonial Beach, Arcadia and Northumberland. Admission will be $3 at the gate. Food will be available. The Chargers will hit the road on Thursday, August 25, to play a scrimmage game at Norfolk Academy at 4:30 p.m.


MHS golf team opens season
imageThe Middlesex High School golf team opened its season on Tuesday, August 16, with a 211-218 loss to the visiting Rappahannock Raiders at Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield. Greg Harrow, who is in his ninth year as the Chargers head coach, said his team is young but anticipates the returning members will provide a good foundation for success.


2011 Young Lady Chargers Volleyball has potential
“With a new lineup, it takes a little while to get to know each other on the court and how to play as a unit,” coach Jennifer Harrow said. “They also need to get louder on the court and talk to one another. Once they do, everything else will fall into place.”
