Firearm safety camp is blazing success
All adults received instruction in parents’ responsibilities when supervising youth shooting activities and all children received instruction in firearm safety including the Eddie Eagle message: “If you find a firearms, STOP, DON’T TOUCH, leave the area and tell an adult!”

Bloomquist banks check with Commonwealth 100 win
imageScott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn., scored his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory of the year last Saturday night at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway at Jamaica. Bloomquist took over the lead when Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Illinois, suffered a flat tire just 11 laps from the finish.


‘Galloping’ fundraiser benefits young riders
In spite of grey clouds and the occasional sprinkle of raindrops, everyone who attended “Galloping into Spring” at Hearts Corner Farm at 1341 Wake Road on March 31 had great fun and contributed to a very successful fundraiser dedicated to helping young equestrian students as they advance in multi-levels of riding discipline and skill.


Willis captures two events for MHS girls
The Middlesex High School girls track team finished second in a tri-meet on April 4 at West Point High School. King William won the meet with 72 points; Middlesex was second with 42 points; and West Point was third with 30 points.
