Penalties doom Chargers in season opening loss
The Middlesex High School varsity football team ran into a strong Mathews team Thursday night and lost the non-district game 51-14. Penalties plagued the Chargers throughout the game. MHS quarterback Raheem Lockley had over 100 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns called back because of MHS holding and blocking penalties.

The Christchurch School 2010 football season opened in Lynchburg on Saturday at Virginia Episcopal School. Christchurch beat the Bishops, 31-2, and began along a path they hope will end in the VISFA title game. VES scored its only points on a safety.
09.08.2010Middlesex High golfers pick up two more wins
The Middlesex High School golf team upped its mark to 6-2 on August 31, shooting a 166 and defeating Essex (182) and King William (190) in a 9-hole tri-match at PRGC. “These were two big wins for us,” said MHS coach Greg Harrow.
Fortunately, Hurricane Earl was a nonevent. The days prior to its passing along the Virginia coastline were spent preparing for the arrival, and there wasn’t a lot of fishing. The weather for the Labor Day weekend was outstanding, and there were lots of boats on the water for the last of the summer holidays.
