Christchurch wins first state football title
Too fast. Too strong. Too skilled. That’s what the Christchurch School Fighting Seahorses were last Saturday in their 48-15 win over Potomac School in the State Division II Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) championship football game. Actually, the Seahorses were like that all year as they pummeled every opponent en route to a 10-0 record and first state title in school history.
11.22.2011Taylor, Myers to play baseball at Marshall
At the age of 13, Travis Myers of Urbanna and Michael Taylor of St. Albans, W.Va., began a friendship bonded by baseball. The two Christchurch School seniors began playing “Travel Team” baseball together and five years later both have signed National Letters of Intent to play at Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va.

The Middlesex High School winter sports regular season gets under way in December. The girls and boys basketball seasons open Friday, December 2, against Northumberland. The girls will play away and boys at home. JV games are at 6 p.m. and varsity games at 7:30 p.m.
