Christchurch improves to 3-0
imageBlessed Sacrament-Huguenot (BSH) Catholic School from Powhatan came out fighting but the Seahorses won the game 30-12. BSH stopped the Seahorses’ first drive and began driving down the field. Carlos Gray was the first of many CCS players to step up and show the Knights that scoring on the Seahorse defense was not going to be easy.

MHS girls improve to 4-2
“We are not playing ‘our’ game,” said MHS coach Jennifer Harrow.“Energy levels were low for most of the Essex match and when Essex gave up after the first game loss, we should have taken them quickly in the second two games, but we played to their level to the end.”


Lady Charger JVs sweep Essex
imageThe Middlesex High JV volleyball team swept Essex 25-22, 25-19 on September 13 and lost at Lancaster on September 20. The MHS JVs are 2-4 on the season. “We came out the gate running,” said coach Laura Norris. “The team played well, moving their feet and communicating.”


MHS golfers in district tournament Monday
On September 13, the Middlesex High School golf team hosted Mathews at the Piankatank River Golf Club in a 9-hole Tidewater District match. The Blue Devils prevailed 204 to 212. Robbie Pitts brought in the lowest score for the Chargers with a 49 while Andrew Dozier came in second with a 50.
