The Spanish mackerel fishing is still very good, and the fish have finally reached the middle bay, such as Windmill Bar and the upper reaches of The Cut Channel. Those anglers with the best catches have been fishing in multiple locations to find feeding fish.

The Middlesex Partners In Progress (MPIP) 2nd annual fishing trip was a huge success and lots of fun for all who participated. The kids had a great time on the “Tortuga” as they went out to the mouth of the Rappahannock River.
08.24.2011Football Jamboree is Friday at MHS
The Middlesex High School Chargers will host a Football Jamboree at 6 p.m. this Friday, August 19. Participating in the practice games will be the Chargers, Colonial Beach, Arcadia and Northumberland. Admission will be $3 at the gate. Food will be available. The Chargers will hit the road on Thursday, August 25, to play a scrimmage game at Norfolk Academy at 4:30 p.m.

The Middlesex High School golf team opened its season on Tuesday, August 16, with a 211-218 loss to the visiting Rappahannock Raiders at Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield. Greg Harrow, who is in his ninth year as the Chargers head coach, said his team is young but anticipates the returning members will provide a good foundation for success.
