Seahawks have 4-2 record
St. Clare Walker (SCW) Middle School boys basketball team has four wins so far this season. The Seahawks have beaten Ware Academy, Aylett Country Day School, Northumberland and Chesapeake Academy, while losing twice to Lancaster.

YMCA offers karate
imageThe Middlesex Family Y is continuing to offer karate instruction two nights a week, Monday and Thursday, in the program center at the Y in Hartfield. Mike Smallwood, the YMCA’s Sensei, is a nine-year veteran and a third-degree black belt in the area of martial arts.


Adult volleyball starts Feb. 13
Set it up . . . spike it down! The Middlesex Family YMCA is now registering participants for adult coed volleyball. The season will start on February 13 and will be held every Wednesday at St. Clare Walker Middle School in Locust Hill until March 27.


Seahorses upset VES; host Woodberry Friday
imageChristchurch School basketball coach Ben Thompson had a feeling that Julian Reed had that look in his eye. The junior sharpshooter from Apex, N.C., knew he had to step up his play against the #1 ranked VISAA Division II team in the state, the Virginia Episcopal School Bishops.
