STAB defeats CCS in state football semifinals
CCS met top-ranked St. Anne’s Belfield (STAB) Saints in the semifinals last Friday, and although the Seahorses fought tooth and nail through the first half, STAB pulled away in the second half to secure a return to the state finals this Friday, November 19.

Juniors win Fall Classic in sudden-death playoff
imageIt was another successful year for the Piankatank River Golf Club Annual Fall Classic held October 30-31. In the classic, golfers age 60 and under (Juniors) captained by Lee Holloway faced off against the golfers age 60 and above (Seniors) captained by Jim Goforth for two days of competition.


Powder-Puff football game at MHS November 17
UPDATED: A "Seniors vs. The World" Powder-Puff Football Game will be held at Middlesex High School at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, on the football field. "Come out and watch the senior girls take on the underclass girls," said an event spokesperson. Tickets will be $5 at the gate.


Lady Chargers win Region A title
imageMiddlesex will host a quarterfinal game in the Group A Division 2 State Tournament on Tuesday, November 16, at 6 p.m. at MHS in Saluda. The Lady Chargers (18-3) will play the Region B runner-up, which will be either Strasburg or Clarke County. Those teams play for the Region B championship this Saturday night.
