Waite named top coach; three players earn honors
imageChristchurch School baseball coach Jon Waite has been named VISAA Division 2 Coach-of-the-Year. Coach Waite announced that junior Travis Myers of Urbanna and junior Michael Taylor of Urbanna have been named to the VISAA Division II All-State 1st team.

MHS eliminated in state quarterfinals
imageRegion B champion Appomattox jumped to a 7-0 lead after three innings and never looked back in defeating Middlesex 12-1 Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the State Group A Division 2 Tournament in Appomattox. Appomattox advanced to the state semifinals on Friday at Radford University.


Henry repeats as state long jump champion
imageThe Middlesex High School boys track team tied with Mathews for 17th place at the State Group A Track Meet last Saturday at Radford University. Manassas Park won the boys competition with 51 points. The Chargers scored 12 points in the meet and had two performers, Chris Henry and Jeromy Rich, receive All-State honors.


Moore named All-Region & District MVP; Crittenden as All-Region pick
imageCharger pitcher Harley Moore, who has accepted an offer to play baseball at Dickenson College in Pennsylvania next year, was the District MVP. He also was first team selection as a pitcher for a second straight season. Charger second baseman Alex Crittenden repeated as the All-District second baseman.
