Aylett rockfish tournament winners
imageAylett Country Day School’s rockfish tournament had 32 boats in the competition. Eleven fish were weighed, and the prize winners were as follows: 1st place, $3,000, Danny Dunaway, Dunnsville, 29.6 lbs; 2nd place, $750, Dean Irwin, Aylett, 13.5 lbs.; and 3rd place, $250, Scotty Puckett, Mechanicsville, 12.3 lbs.


Competition cheering tryouts set
The Middlesex County Parks and Recreation Department will hold competition cheering squad tryouts on Monday, December 10, and Wednesday, December 12, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Tom Carter Memorial Gym at Cooks Corner. Tryouts are open to all between the ages of 11 and 18 as of August 31, 2012.


Kirby sweeps the field; Wills finishes 5th
imageOn November 3, Brooke Kirby, riding “Rhett, Gone With The Wind,” won the championship of the short/-long Stirrup Equitation Division at Stonehouse Stables during her first of five shows in the winter show series.


Seahorses finish 3rd in 16-team regatta
imageLast weekend Christchurch School hosted the Interscholastic Sailing Association Atlantic Coast Championship Regatta at the school’s waterfront. A total of 16 teams from as far away as the state of Maine and the Bahamas came to sail. The teams used Christchurch’s fleet of 420s.
