Lady Chargers rip Northampton
The Middlesex High Lady Chargers went on the road and rolled over Northampton 59-40 on the Eastern Shore Tuesday to advance to the semifinals of the Region A Division II Tournament. Fifth-seeded Middlesex will visit top-seeded Lancaster Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m.

Burnett, M. Reed earn All-Tidewater honors
Middlesex senior forward Ashae Burnett was named first team All-Tidewater District for a third straight year following Friday’s district championship game. Burnett earned second team All-District honors as a freshman in 2006.

Williams, Gbinije are All-Prep
Christchurch School’s Caron Williams and Mike Gbinije were among 10 players named to the 2008-09 All-Virginia Prep League team. Williams, a 6’0” senior guard, averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.5 assists this season for the Prep League champion Seahorses.
