MHS trackmen seek district title May 16
The Middlesex High School boys track team won a tri-meet against West Point and King and Queen on May 2, at West Point. The Chargers won the meet with 77 points. King and Queen was second with 45 points, and West Point was third with 24 points.

Boddie Tourney golf winners named
imageThe 3rd annual Father John Boddie Memorial Golf Classic took place May 4 at Piankatank River Golf Club (PRGC) in Hartfield. Eighty-eight players competed in the event hosted by the Church of The Visitation, Topping. Pastor Robert Cummins welcomed the golfers and sent them to their tees with a blessing.


Colts youth football signup due Saturday
Registration for the Middlesex Colts youth football program will be held May 12 and 19, and June 2 and 9. Registration will take place at the Middlesex Sports Complex behind St. Clare Walker Middle School in Locust Hill. Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.


MHS girls win twice; fall to Mathews 5-3
imageThe Middlesex High softball team held Mathews scoreless through 4 innings on Friday but dropped the district game 5-3. Mathews rallied in the bottom of the fifth inning with 5 runs—a result of 3 ground ball “swinging bunts” that did not reach the pitcher’s mound and loaded the bases.
