Burnett, M. Reed earn All-Tidewater honors
Middlesex senior forward Ashae Burnett was named first team All-Tidewater District for a third straight year following Friday’s district championship game. Burnett earned second team All-District honors as a freshman in 2006.

Williams, Gbinije are All-Prep
Christchurch School’s Caron Williams and Mike Gbinije were among 10 players named to the 2008-09 All-Virginia Prep League team. Williams, a 6’0” senior guard, averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.5 assists this season for the Prep League champion Seahorses.

Christchurch advances to semifinals
Christchurch made 17 of 17 free throw attempts in the fourth quarter en route to a rugged 67-54 win over Trinity Episcopal in the quarterfinals of the Virginia Prep League Tournament Tuesday at CCS.
