Payne pitches MHS girls past NHS 3-2
The Middlesex Lady Chargers defeated a scrappy Northumberland team 3-2 on Tuesday to open their softball season. Megan Payne pitched a one-hitter in her varsity debut. She struck out 9, walked 5 and gave up only one earned run.

Chargers lose opener; host Lancaster Monday
The Middlesex High School varsity baseball team lost its first game of the season to a strong Northumberland team, 11-2. The Indians were paced by the strong pitching of their ace, Kyle Hall, who struck out 12 Chargers in 5 innings.

MHS tennis team splits pair
The Middlesex High School girls tennis got off to a strong start on March 18 with a 6-3 win over Essex, but later in the week lost 6-3 to a strong Appomattox Regional Governor’s School team.
