Speedway to open 40th season with World of Outlaws

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway (VMS) at Jamaica in Middlesex County will swing open the gates for the 40th season Saturday, April 18, and will do so with the most ambitious opening in the track’s history. The stars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series are headed to the speedway for a 50-lap no-holds-barred brawl that is sure to be one for the ages.

Little League games begin Saturday

The Opening Day Ceremony will start at 3 p.m. All players and coaches are requested to arrive around 2:15 p.m. to line up with their respective teams. The public is invited to attend this event to enjoy the fellowship and to support our youth.

MHS netters down Windsor, Raiders

The Middlesex High School girls tennis team defeated Windsor 7-2 on April 7 and edged Rappahannock 5-4 on April 9. "We pretty much dominated the match against Windsor," said MHS coach Pete Shepherd. "All the ladies played exceptionally well."

MHS girls capture 2nd place

The Middlesex High School girls track team captured second place Saturday in the 11th annual West Point High School Invitational Track meet with 73 points. MHS battled West Point and King William on April 8, and will run in the King William Invitational on April 18.
