MHS boys to host King William Friday
Middlesex lost a key Tidewater District game to West Point, 47-44, last Friday at West Point. “Everything that could have gone wrong in the first half did,” said MHS coach Brody Jackson. “We missed a lot of layups on offense, weren’t aggressive like we wanted to be on defense, and got a few guys in foul trouble.”

MHS Wrestlers defeat Essex and Sussex
The Middlesex High School wrestling team placed second in a quad-meet at King William High School on January 19. The Chargers defeated Essex 48-12 and Sussex Central 45-12. They lost to King William 54-27. “We had eight forfeits as a team and still did awesome,” said MHS wrestling coach Joel Anderson.


Youth wrestlers begin season
imageThe Middlesex Youth Wrestling Club (MYWC) held its first home meet of the 2012 Peninsula Youth Wrestling League season on January 20 at Middlesex High School. MYWC has 21 members and 13 of those wrestlers competed against wrestlers from Mathews, Gloucester and Williamsburg. There were over 120 matches on three mats on the MHS gym floor.


MHS wrestlers down Sussex; fall to Caroline
imageThe Middlesex High School wrestling team faced a group of tough Caroline and Sussex Central grapplers on January 11 at MHS. The Chargers defeated Sussex 38-30, and lost to the Caroline 48-24. “Our kids showed a lot of heart in the win over Sussex Central,” said MHS coach Joel Anderson.
