MHS trackmen finish third

The Middlesex High School boys track team finished third behind Windsor and Lancaster Saturday in the King William (Bob Murray) Invitational track meet at King William High School. Windsor won the meet with 116 points; Lancaster was second with 108 points; Middlesex, third, 98.5 points; King William, fourth, 90; King and Queen, fifth, 75.5; and Northumberland, sixth, 63.

Lady Chargers rout West Point

With a 13-0 win on Friday against Tidewater District foe West Point, the Middlesex Lady Chargers varsity softball team improved to 2-0 in the district and 3-2 overall. The Lady Chargers’ only losses have been to Lancaster.

Fletcher, Goodrich lead MHS win

The Chargers were paced at the plate by Fletcher and Mason Goodrich. Fletcher had 2 doubles and a single and 4 RBIs. Goodrich connected for a 2-run homer, an RBI-double and a single.

Speedway to open 40th season with World of Outlaws

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway (VMS) at Jamaica in Middlesex County will swing open the gates for the 40th season Saturday, April 18, and will do so with the most ambitious opening in the track’s history. The stars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series are headed to the speedway for a 50-lap no-holds-barred brawl that is sure to be one for the ages.

Little League games begin Saturday

The Opening Day Ceremony will start at 3 p.m. All players and coaches are requested to arrive around 2:15 p.m. to line up with their respective teams. The public is invited to attend this event to enjoy the fellowship and to support our youth.
