Christchurch School wins season opener
The Christchurch School 2010 football season opened in Lynchburg on Saturday at Virginia Episcopal School. Christchurch beat the Bishops and began along a path they hope will end in the VISFA title game. For now, a 1-0 start in the conference and the state is good enough. VES scored its only points for a safety.

Middlesex Chargers to host Mathews Thursday
The Middlesex High School varsity football team will open its regular 2010 season at 7 p.m. Thursday September 2, against longtime rival Mathews in a non-district game at MHS in Saluda.

VA Charter Boat Association: “Hooked on Fishing”
The Virginia Charter Boat Association (VCBA) held its 3rd annual “Hooked on Fishing” youth event on Saturday, August 28, at Norview Marina in Deltaville. VCBA charter boat captains took a total of 110 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from the Richmond area to fish in the Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay.

Undefeated Lady Chargers host Lancaster Tuesday
The Middlesex varsity volleyball team is off to a 3-0 start to the season with wins against Rappahannock, W&L and Essex in non-district action. The Middlesex varsity and JV volleyball teams will host Lancaster on Tuesday, September 7, and are at W&L on Thursday, September 9. JV games are a 6 p.m. and the varsity plays at 7:30 p.m.
