About 90 members of the Middlesex High School Class of 2012 graduated on Saturday, June 16, in the John S. Clements Memorial Gymnasium in Saluda.

Welcoming remarks were made by senior class president Georgiana Iesha Lee.

Rachel Elaine Mantell was the student speaker, chosen by the senior class.

The graduation speaker was retired U.S. Marine D. Bowen Richwine Jr., who deployed twice to the Mediterranean Sea, supporting operations in Bosnia and Croatia. He eventually attained the rank of lieutenant colonel before retiring. Richwine is the son of Don and Judy Richwine of Urbanna.

The diplomas were presented by school superintendent Dr. James Lane, MHS principal Dr. Stephen Castle and guidance counselors Kathy Page and Anne Baltrusaitis. Assistant principal Susan Leggett announced the names of the graduates as they accepted their diplomas.
