The Urbanna Oyster Festival has become an great place to show off new fall fashions. This season boots are making a fashion statement that goes well with boats and the venerable bivalve—the oyster. Tall, studded, buckled, plain, western or the popular suede Uggs, they all were seen on the streets of Urbanna for the 53rd Oyster Festival.

“Boots have made come back, hardcore,” said Bo Acors of Mechanicsville. He noticed how many women were wearing boots at recent UVa football games.

It’s hard to miss a woman in knee-high boots, like his wife Jodie who was wearing high-heeled, knee-high brown buckled boots. “They’re in style,” she said.

For men, boots are practical, rugged and warm.

For women, tall boots go well tucked inside jeans to give a lean look of authority or an equestrian. They make a fashion statement even though they’re just footwear.
