Michael Rutkowski, the featured speaker at Saturday’s 62nd graduation ceremony at Middlesex High School, summed up his address by saying, “This is just the beginning. Your education here is only the foundation from which you will grow.”
Rutkowski spoke from his experience gained since he graduated from MHS in 2003. He is currently working towards a PhD in astrophysics at Arizona State University.
“Please don’t leave here today with your diploma thinking that your education is complete,” he told the 116 graduates assembled in the John S. Clements Memorial Gymnasium. “For better or worse it will never be done. Hopefully, for your sake, a fire has been kindled at Middlesex by your teachers and mentors.”
