In Honor Of Ace

Dozens of motorcyclists from BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), attended the funeral of Greene County Sheriff's Investigator Chad Carr, a Northumberland County native who was killed in the line of duty. Carr was an active volunteer with BACA and was known as "Ace."
Police Unity Tour: riding for fallen officers

The Police Unity Tour Riders made a pit stop in Urbanna on Sunday May 10 during their annual ride from Portsmouth to Washington D.C. The cyclists use the event to raise funds to support police families who have lost an officer in the line of duty.
Art on the Half Shell

The 9th Annual Art on the Half Shell fine arts and crafts festival was better than ever, according to event co-chair Ginny Sawkins. Good weather drew large crowds of enthusiasts to Urbanna for the wide variety of paintings, sculptures jewelry and more.
Blessing of the Fleet

The 39th Annual Blessing of the Fleet was held in Reedville, Virginia on May 10th 2009. It was sponsored by St. Mary's Episcopal Church of Fleeton and Omega Protein, Inc. of Reedville. The purpose of the ceremony is to bless the fishermen, the nets and the boats and pray for a bountiful harvest.
Yates House Student Art Exhibit

The Yates House in Deltaville hosted a juried art exhibit for students of Middlesex County, which included the public school system as well as Christchurch School. Rona Sullivan complemented the event with her guitar and vocals.
