Flag Retirement Ceremony
Boy Scouts from Troops 341, 345 and 370 participated in a ﬂag retirement ceremony sponsored by American Legion Post 82 in Saluda. Under the U.S. Flag Code, burning is the preferred manner of disposal. This slideshow demonstrates the process of dissecting and retiring the flag.

Dozens of motorcyclists from BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), attended the funeral of Greene County Sheriff's Investigator Chad Carr, a Northumberland County native who was killed in the line of duty. Carr was an active volunteer with BACA and was known as "Ace."

The Police Unity Tour Riders made a pit stop in Urbanna on Sunday May 10 during their annual ride from Portsmouth to Washington D.C. The cyclists use the event to raise funds to support police families who have lost an officer in the line of duty.
