Every year Ware Academy’s Lower School SCA officers and class representatives hold a coat drive for the Salvation Army. The 2010 coat drive officially ended on Friday, January 22. The students gathered a total of 195 coats.

As a finale, Ware Head of School Tom Thomas donated his own coats to push the school’s total donation over the 200 mark to 222! The number of coats collected from each division: Primary School, 55; Lower School, 78; and Middle School, 62.

The Lower School officers and class representatives provided all of the advertisement for the event.  They made posters, announcements, and even spoke on a local radio station about their cause. There were 20 lawn bags filled with coats!
