Ware Academy’s involvement with the Virginia Naturally Program continues to increase awareness and advocacy for the environment for its students. Ware’s students maintain and utilize outdoor habitats that not only serve as spaces for new wildlife but also provide meaningful indoor and outdoor learning experiences which are integrated across the school’s curriculum. The Ware community also investigates and researches examples of conservation, aquaculture, restoration and best practices in regards to water resources and the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

Virginia Naturally is the official environmental education school recognition program of the Commonwealth administered by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries with support from the Department of Education and the Department of Environmental Quality. This program recognizes Virginia schools who increase the environmental awareness and stewardship of its youngest citizens. Ware was recently recognized by the program for the sixth straight year.

Ware Academy continues to be committed to its environment and to develop environmentally-minded, global citizens.
