Ware Academy students helped collect food for the needy.

During Spirit Week, the Ware Academy families, teachers, and students brought in canned and dried goods for β€œThe Bread for Life Community Food Pantry.” The Ware community donated 470 pounds to families in need.

Third and fourth grade students sorted all of the items. Fifth grade students delivered, weighed and bagged all of the goods. Over 100 meals were bagged by the children. β€œIt was a great team effort!β€œ said a Ware spokesperson.

Bread for Life is located adjacent to the Church of St. Therese in Gloucester. The organization consists of a caring volunteer staff. In 2011, food was distributed 6,538 times and 117.6 tons of food were given to 2,278 children, adults, and seniors.
