Two programs for youngsters set at Chesapeake Academy

On Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 9:30 a.m., Chesapeake Academy’s Performing Arts and Lecture Series will present Wendy Whitten and her tree frog, Flumpa, in “A Space Odyssey—An Earth Science Adventure!”

This nationally-acclaimed, award-winning, high-energy, interactive musical science assembly will teach about astronomy, the sun/stars, the visible light spectrum, galaxies, planets, planetary motion, space exploration, space history and more.

This program is for ages 3 to grade 5. Contact Hilary Scott at 438-5575 or to make a reservation for this program.

Chesapeake Academy’s Discovery Days are literacy-based events designed to be fun for young children. The Saturday, January 20, Discovery Day will feature Steve Breen’s “Violet, the Pilot” and will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Bring your 4 to 7 year olds and get “hands-on” with teacher guided art, science, math, and movement activities that spring from the pages of this award-winning children’s book.  Explore how Violet Van Winkle, a young girl with a flair for engineering learns to celebrate her unique gifts. Each participant will leave with a copy of the book to enjoy. Contact Scott to reserve a space for this free morning of fun.

Chesapeake Academy is in Irvington.
