Three area juniors selected to attend Freedoms Foundation Conference
Moira Hull and Thomas Hyde of Lancaster High School, along with Jennifer Ratcliffe of Northumberland High, have been selected by the local Mary Ball Washington Chapter of the Freedoms Foundation to attend the March session of the annual 4-day Youth Leadership Conference at Valley Forge. While there they will study the U.S. Constitution, participate in debates, and attend in-depth seminars about the country’s founding principles, and visit historic sites in and around Philadelphia. Additionally, they will be studying the responsibilities of good citizenship.
Mary Ball Washington is a part of the national Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge which was founded in 1949 by E.F. Hutton and others. President Eisenhower served as its first chairman and as chairman emeritus until his death in 1969.
