Teachers invited to Project WET
Teachers and other educators are invited to a free workshop with lessons about wetlands and water quality on October 7 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster.
Participants will engage in cooperative, hands-on learning, experiencing the many activities they can teach in the classroom.
Project WET addresses atmospheric water, surface water, ground water, cultural and historical uses of water, and contemporary water management issues such as non-point source pollution.
Professionally-developed teaching aids are hands-on, self-contained, and user-friendly.
This Backyard Classroom uses Virginia State Parks as an outdoor classroom and includes lessons in history, science and geography.
All participants receive free books filled with lesson plans and other educational aids.
