Student poster contest deadline is Oct. 11

“Where does your water shed?” is the theme for this year’s national youth poster contest sponsored by the National Association of Conservation Districts. Entries will be taken from all Mathews, Gloucester and Middlesex youth in grades K-12.

“It is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and how it gets to their table,” said a contest spokesperson.

The contest starts at the local level but winners move on to state level and can advance to the national level. Various prizes are possible along the way. Local winners from the three counties will receive a gift certificate.

The size of poster entries must be between 8.5” x 11” and 22” x 28”, and any media may be used to create a flat or two-dimensional effect. For complete rules and entry form, contact the Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District office at 693-3562, ext. 5.

All entries must be received by October 11 at the Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District office, P.O. Box 677, Gloucester, VA 23061.
