Stewart 5K raises $12,500

image
The Stewart girls included Sherin (Dr. Stewart’s wife), Anne, Rachel and Jacqueline (youngest to oldest).

Ware Academy and the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic held the 2nd Annual Bobby Stewart 5K Walk/Run last Saturday at Williams Wharf in Mathews.

The event raised $12,500 with just over 200 participants walking, running, limping, laughing and just having a great time with Sherin Stewart (wife of the late Dr. Stewart) and her girls.

The proceeds from this event benefit the Ware Academy Scholarship and Financial Aid Fund and the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic—two community organizations Dr. Stewart embraced ardently.

The overall male winner was Douglas Marshall with a time of 17:28:34. He also won this year’s Daffodil race.
