STEM students work on dry noodle bridge project

Middlesex High School Algebra I students participated in a STEM project to build a bridge from dry noodles that would hold 10 pounds. “Students have worked very hard in the first semester, and I wanted to allow them the opportunity to work together on a project,” said teacher Clark Laster. 

Project-based learning is an initiative in the school system allowing students the opportunity to collaborate creatively and work on a common goal, building a dry noodle bridge.  

The project was the first of many projects the students will participate in during their Algebra 1 class. “I think students need to learn how to think and work together,” Laster said. “If they can successfully…
