St. Margaret’s School names new director of communication, marketing

St. Margaret’s School (SMS) has named alumna Patricia Brincefield ’71 as its new director of communication and marketing. In this role she will be responsible for raising visibility and awareness for the school and its mission through creative messaging, consistent brand marketing, advertising, public relations and community outreach. Brincefield will work closely with school leadership to grow enrollment and strengthen ties to diverse communities. She will also serve as webmaster and media contact.

“We are quite fortunate to have found Patricia,” said SMS head of school Cathy Sgroi. “Her professional experience as a marketing strategist, writer and producer along with her many industry connections will help take us to the next level. Plus, she has a very personal relationship with St. Margaret’s as an alumna and understands first-hand the transformative power our school can have on young women.”

Brincefield was formerly the communications director for the independent Federal Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities that worked with states and tribes to gather testimony and data that informed a national strategy for the President and Congress to help end child maltreatment deaths. Prior to joining the Commission, she was a senior project manager with ICF International in Fairfax, and served as communications director for Child Welfare Information Gateway, the information service for the U.S. Children’s Bureau within the Department of Health and Human Services.

Brincefield has a BS in mass communications from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a native of Washington, D.C., and a former resident of Alexandria and Ophelia.
