Middlesex County Public Schools got off to a good start on Tuesday, said school superintendent Rusty Fairheart. “We had the normal transportation issues, but we worked through them,” he said.
The projected enrollment is 1,215, which is slightly higher than what was budgeted, said Fairheart.
Fairheart added that he anticipates enrollment will fluctuate over the coming weeks with new students arriving, and those who have moved out of Middlesex being subtracted from the roll.
“Enrollment tends to balance out, but we won’t know for sure until the final numbers are in,” he said.
“The teachers seem enthusiastic and the kids were smiling,” said Fairheart. “It’s always good to have the kids back in school.”
