Signup continues for 4-H Health Rocks Day Camp

Spaces are still available for Middlesex youngsters to attend this summer’s 4-H Health Rocks Day Camp at Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster.

The Health Rocks Day Camp will provide youth with countless opportunities for learning more about themselves, their peers, and making smart decisions. This learning takes place through a wide range of activities and the Health Rocks  curriculum, all of which are designed to allow youth to “learn by doing” through hands-on participation.

Middlesex County is accepting registration for any boy or girl ages 9 to 13 as of September 30, 2013 who is interested in going to Health Rocks Camp this summer.

Camp will be held August 12-14 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day at Belle Isle State Park on the scenic Rappahannock River. Campers will be able to participate in activities such as games, crafts, learning about making healthy lifestyle choices, playing outside, and making nutritious snacks.

The cost of the day camp is $10, which covers programming, crafts, and snacks. Campers are asked to bring a bag lunch each day.  To register for camp or for more information, contact Karlee Steffey (758-4120 or ) or come by the Middlesex Extension Office in Saluda to get a registration form.
