Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant Mariah Danielle Alderman and her Little Miss Spat contestant Anna Carey had a great turnout Wednesday, July 31, at “Music Matters for Middlesex” at the Chesapeake Inn in Urbanna.

“With great music by Jumbo Lump Daddy, Jack Mulligan, Beth and Morgan Stewart, and Chris Stanley, we topped off the night with a grand total of $1,784 for the Middlesex High School Music Department,” said Alderman. “We were able to have fantastic hors d’oeuvres and drinks thanks to John Milby and the facilities of the Chesapeake Inn, as well as the volunteered time of Emily Davies, Anne Miller, Rob Haley, Cerise Hall, Donna Alderman and Dawn Myers.

“Special thanks go out to all who attended the event and made the wonderful donations for this cause,” said Alderman, “But the song does not stop there! The music will continue in Middlesex County with further donations!“ she said.

Mail donations to: Music Matters for Middlesex, c/o Mariah Danielle Alderman, 49 Harbor Landing Court, Urbanna, VA 23175, with checks payable to Middlesex High School Music Department, or contact Alderman, at 434-294-3782.

“I have hope that the music in Middlesex will continue to grow and prosper with this community’s help!“ said Alderman.
