Osprey Scholarship available
Chesapeake Academy has announced a $3,500 scholarship to be awarded to one outstanding new 4th, 5th, or 6th grade boy or girl enrolling at the independent school in Irvington for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Criteria for winning the Osprey Scholarship is based on a student’s previous academic record, performance on an admissions test and writing sample, indication of strong, positive character, and personal interview.
Testing for students wishing to apply for the Osprey Scholarship will take place on Saturday, March 7, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Eligibility is open to any current 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student not presently enrolled at Chesapeake Academy.
“We’re hoping to meet a student who impresses us both scholastically and personally, who will benefit from becoming an Osprey, and contribute in a special way to our school community,” said head of school Debbie Cook.
