Middlesex Teenager of the Year nominations sought

The Middlesex Kiwanis Club is seeking nominations for consideration as the 2018 Middlesex Teenager of the Year. The purpose is to give recognition to deserving teenagers for their academic achievements, citizenship, service to their school and community, growth and responsibility in his/her family unit, and character and leadership performance. If a nominee continues the competition through the club, division and district levels they are eligible for awards (cash and/or scholarships) and travel with their parents/guardians to the award ceremonies.

Applicant qualifications for the 2018 Teenager of the Year are:

  • High school seniors (2017-2018 academic year).
  • A resident of Middlesex (includes seniors attending an out-of-district school but whose family resides in Middlesex).
  • Complete and submit an application packet on or before February 16.

To make a nomination or pick up an application please contact your school principal, guidance counselor (Middlesex High School, Christchurch School, and West Point High School) or you may request one by email ().

Selection for Teenager of the Year is based on academic achievement, school and community service and involvement, and overall citizenship. The recipient will receive an award and cash prize at the 2018 Teenager of the Year program on Monday, March 19. Additionally, the recipient will go on to compete in the Kiwanis Division Teenager of the Year program. Last year’s recipient, Ja’Mel Reed, won both the club and division Teenager of the Year and placed in the district program.
