Middlesex students capture art honors
The Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District recently recognized its local and state poster contest winners.
“Soil to Spoon was the conservation topic this year for the poster contest and we received over 30 entries,” said Carl Thiel-Goin, conservation/education specialist for the district. “It was a great challenge to pick the local winners.”
There were three local winners, all from Middlesex County, who all went on to the state level. Cheyanne Duncan’s poster was chosen as a state winner for the grades 7-9 group and will compete on the national level.
“We are looking forward to next year’s contest and are very proud of the artistry we received this year,” said Thiel-Goin.
