Middlesex County students sing in choirs
On April 16-17 five students from Middlesex High and five students from St. Clare Walker Middle School participated in the annual Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula Area Chorus concert at West Point High School.
The students rehearsed all day Friday and all morning Saturday, and performed in a 3 p.m. concert to culminate the event.
The middle school area choir and the high school area choir each had about 100 students from the local area, spanning nearly 10 school divisions.
Registration fees paid to the event go toward hiring outstanding guest directors, including Christine Stanley, director at Rodney Thompson Middle School in Stafford County, who led the middle school choir. The high school choir was directed by Dr. Deen Entsminger of Belmont University.
MHS students who participated included Chris Rodgers, Chris Sheppard, Lavonia Tunstall, Skye O’Sullivan and Ashley McCarty. SCW students included Kendra Yates, Taylor Lockley, Amberly Blakeley, Avis Keeling and Shannon Estep.
