Middlesex High School celebrated first semester academic success with a breakfast catered by Chick-fil-A.

Students enjoyed a breakfast that included a chicken biscuit, cinnamon clusters, and fruit. “These students work so hard in school, and I think it is appropriate to reward them for their achievements!” said Jeannie Duke, principal of MHS.

The next academic reward breakfast will be at the end of the next two marking periods in February. Students at MHS are primarily on a 4 by 4 schedule, so most finish one set of classes and move on to a new schedule in February, much like students at colleges.

Over 180 students have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and “that is cause for celebration!” said Duke.
