MHS forensics team is district runner-up

The Middlesex High School forensics team made a great showing at the Tidewater District Tournament on February 11 by finishing second. Every team member advanced to the regional level.

“I am so proud of each student—they had great selection and practiced very hard. I anticipate a terrific regional showing, as well,” said team coach Christine Pedersen.

The Duo Interpretation team of Joey McComas and Mark Hall placed third. Elisha Johnson placed second in Impromptu Speaking, Cydney Fisher placed second in Storytelling, and Amber Holland placed second in Prose Interpretation.

Rebecca Walker was first in Foreign Extemporaneous, Gregory Dorsey was first in Domestic Extemporaneous, and Brittany Wood was first in the Original Oratory category. 

The Region A Tournament will be held at West Point on Saturday, March 7.
