MES fifth-graders tour Jamestown

It was inspiring for the students to walk where the colonists struggled for survival, 400 years ago. The archaeological dig in progress also was fascinating to watch. Workers have uncovered and re-created the original fort perimeter.
The students were able to view artifacts that have been found and placed in the new Archaearium building.
The tour will enhance the fifth grade study of the Jamestown colony in its upcoming unit at MES.
“We appreciate the many parents that accompanied us on our field trip,” said a MES teacher.
