Kids First food sharing

image
There was recently a Kids First Celebration at Middlesex Elementary School. Hank and Celane Roden celebrated the last snack sharing of the year with strawberry shortcakes. The Rodens are the coordinators/volunteers that send out schedules and lists of foods to other volunteers. Each volunteer comes once a month to introduce a healthy food to the 3-year-old class. “They are introduced to a new healthy food each week and they learn how it helps them grow,” said Cristie Jenkins, one of the volunteers from the Middlesex County Woman’s Club. Hank Roden said, “It’s great to see them sample new foods and find out they like them.” The program will return to the school next fall when more volunteers will be sought. If interested in participating in this program, contact Roden at .
