Julien Patterson to be RCC commencement speaker

Rappahannock Community College is looking forward to its 47th commencement exercise on Friday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. at its Warsaw Campus.

This commencement is significant in the lives of RCC students and the college community. Approximately 670 students will receive 1,050 awards. Additionally, 333 workforce credentials have been earned and 60 dual-enrolled students in regional high schools will receive associate degrees weeks before they graduate from high school.

Dr. Elizabeth “Sissy” Crowther, president of RCC, said, “A community college graduation is a spectacular event because of the highly-meaningful experience for students and families. We serve everyone, including high-achieving high school students, first generation college students, and those looking to increase their income with workplace credentials.”

As RCC gears up to its 50th anniversary, this will be Crowther’s final commencement before retirement in June. An announcement of the new RCC president will be made in May.
