Governor’s School to host ‘Cool Science’ camp

Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School (CBGS) for Marine and Environmental Science will offer “Hot Days-Cool Science,” a three-day, hands-on summer science camp for children in grades 2-4, from June 16-18 at the Glenns Campus of Rappahannock Community College.

Students will be outdoors on a bug safari learning about arthropods on land, and then will take a field trip to learn about marine arthropods such as blue crabs, grass shrimp and other jointed-legged critters in the Chesapeake Bay.

Students also will enjoy team challenge activities, fun outdoor games and cool crafts.

Camp will be taught by CBGS teachers and staffed by student counselors for a high teacher-to-camper ratio that emphasizes hands-on, discovery science and lots of fun.
For more information, call the CBGS at 758-6788.
