Governor’s School offers summer school
This summer the Middle Peninsula Summer Regional Governor’s School (MPSRGS) will again be hosted by Rappahannock Community College, Glenns Campus.
The MPSRGS is sponsored and funded by the Virginia Department of Education with contributions from the participating school systems. The participants include the nine school systems of Charles City, Essex, Gloucester, King and Queen, King William, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent and West Point.
This program provides problem-based classes for approximately 120 identified gifted students currently in grades 4-7.
The application process includes an essay, academic information, and a teacher recommendation. Applications may be obtained from each school division’s local gifted coordinator. Gifted coordinators will collect the applications and present them to the selection committee for the selection process.
The summer program will be August 3-7. Transportation will be provided by the individual school systems.
