Four area students to attend Freedoms Foundation Conference

Juniors Brett Fochtmann of Hardyville and Chelsea Hall of Shacklefords from Middlesex High School, Joseph Rudolph of Lancaster High School, and Adam Parker of Northumberland High School have been selected to attend the four-day annual Spirit of America Youth Leadership Conference at the Freedoms Foundation campus in Valley Forge, Pa., in March 2014.

Fochtmann is the recipient of the scholarship awarded in memory of Ruby Lee Norris, a former Middlesex teacher and a founding member of the local Mary Ball Washington Chapter of the Freedoms Foundation.
Hall’s scholarship is funded by membership dues, donations from private citizens, and local businesses.

Rudolph’s scholarship is funded by the Sons of the American Revolution Chapter in Lancaster County.

The local Mary Ball Washington Chapter wishes to thank the following businesses and organizations for their generous donations in funding scholarships for area students: EVB, Urbanna Branch, Estate Assurance Systems Inc., Revere Gas, Hurd’s Hardware, Lancaster-Northumberland Retired Teachers Association, Sons of the American Revolution in Irvington, Northern Neck Kiwanis and Hammer Time Marine Inc., as well as contributions from private citizens. Their support is greatly appreciated.
