Families of 9th-graders invited to meeting on Governor’s School

The Middlesex County Public Schools invite current 9th-grade families to attend an informational meeting about the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School (CBGS) for Marine and Environmental Science on Tuesday, January 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the MHS media center in Saluda.

The Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School provides an educational option for highly-motivated and talented students interested in, or with an aptitude for, math, science, and technology. Sophomores, juniors and seniors from 14 participating school divisions in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck regions in Virginia attend the Governor’s School. The Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School for Marine and Environmental Science provides a community of learners the opportunity to explore connections among the environment, math, science, and technology, and develops leaders who possess the research and technical skills, global perspective, and vision needed to address the challenges of a rapidly-changing society.

For more information, contact Kim Waite, coordinator of gifted education, at 758-2277, or the counseling guidance department at Middlesex High School at 758-2132.
