Cunningham receives Chesapeake Academy’s H. Hiter Harris Award

Chesapeake Academy has named Robert Livingston Cunningham, son of Robert Cunningham and Robin Cunningham of White Stone, as the 2019 recipient of the H. Hiter Harris Award.

The Hiter Harris Award was established in 1998 by the Hiter Harris Family of Richmond and is given to an outstanding and deserving student who exhibits excellence in academics and citizenship.

Head of School Julianne Duvall said, “Robert Cunningham is a role model for younger students as well as older students. His work ethic and the effort he brings to his learning are not only exemplary, they are inspiring. Robert never lets himself take the easy road. Whenever given a choice about what or how to accomplish a task, he will always challenge himself to do more and be better.”

Academic Dean John Baker said, “Robert’s consistent kindness and concern for others is as admirable as his dedication to those around him. In the classroom and on the athletic field, he is a key contributor who always makes others feel included and valued.”
